This can be either very easy or very difficult depending on how you play.
In the probe area, set the Muurian transport to one preset and head towards it, using
defend fire to keep the R-41s off your back. Its the greatest threat to the probe - after
you finish it off, the other ships should be easy work.
In the checkpoint area, you have two options - dump all shield and laser energy to engines
and make a run for it, or release the probe and help out the platform.
If you decide for the latter, head towards the Y-Wing group targeting you and use a
combination of defend fire, forward lasers, and the (i) key to target
missiles. This should get you close to the pirate fighters and leave them ripe for the
picking with auto-fire.
Keep dealing with the Y-Wing squadrons that are focused on you, and then turn your
attention to the twin Marauder corvettes. Constant circling with auto fire should be enough to do
them in, but remember you also have an ion cannon if you can't stand the turbo laser fire.
